The support family and trusted person service provides support for the child, family in childcare and parenting, support for individuals in the acquisition of municipal skills and the development of social functioning skills.
The supporting family/trusted person carries out practical activities, such as improving the social skills and skills of the family, planning day-to-day treatment for children and promoting useful leisure, supporting budget planning, sorting out different topics, helping to develop family traditions.
A supporting family/trusted person may become a close friend, acquaintance, neighbor.

1. Service requests
In order to receive the services of the support family and trusted person, the person or his or her lawful representative shall submit the documents to the Riga Social Service in accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 138 of 2 April 2019 "Regulations regarding social service and social assistance
receipt "the procedures for the receipt of specified social services and social assistance.

If a family receives a social work service association “Latvian SOS Children's Villages Association”, it shall submit an application to the association “Latvian SOS Children's Villages Association”.
By mail (the application must be signed manually), by signing with a secure electronic signature, or

2. Receipt of services
After receiving all the documents, a decision regarding the granting or refusal of social service is taken within 10 working days.
The social service applicant shall be informed of the decision taken.
The receipt of the support family and trust person's service shall take place at the person's residence.
The social service shall enter into a trilateral agreement with the support family or the trusted person and family or person for the provision of social services. If the support family or trusted person's service is provided by a social service provider, the Social Service shall enter into a tripartite agreement with the social service provider and family or person.
