Allowance for politically repressed persons and members of the National Resistance Movement for residents of Riga City

1. Service requests
If the benefit is received for the first time, the recipient of the benefit must present the status and personal identification documents of the politically repressed person or member of the national resistance movement after receiving the invitation of the Riga Social Service. If a person wishes to receive a benefit through a transfer in the current account of the credit institution, an application shall be submitted to the Social Service of Riga, in which the number of the current account is indicated.
Documents may also be submitted to the Social Service by secure electronic means or by mail.

2. Receipt of services
The social service shall ensure the notification of the time of payment of the allowance.
The lists for the disbursement of the benefit are prepared by the Riga Social Service, in cooperation with the Office for Citizenship and Migration Affairs.
The allowance is paid by transferring it to the current account indicated by the person, or the allowance may be received in cash in the Riga Social Service (in the specified days of the benefit), if such type of payment is indicated in the application.
